About This Project: Grant Barracks – formerly named “Old South Barracks” – was constructed in 1931 and is the oldest Cadet barracks in use. It was renamed after General Grant who commanded the victorious Union Army during the Civil War.
The renovation included a complete gut and remodel of the existing four-story structure. The space was optimized to include 162 modernized rooms.
